One of Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung's star players, Yudha Saputera, has been selected for the Indonesian National Basketball Team for the 2025 Sea Games in Thailand for the umpteenth time. The Cirebon-born player has been in training camp in Jakarta for almost two weeks, along with 18 other players.

"I'm definitely happy and excited about representing Indonesia. There's a sense of pride that can't be expressed when I have the opportunity to wear the red and white jersey on the international stage," Yudha said after training a few days ago.

Yudha also said that the presence of high-level foreign players in last season's IBL helped him develop both technically and mentally. These two aspects will clearly be crucial for competing in international events like the upcoming Sea Games.

"Clearly, having foreign players last season was one of the keys to my improvement on the field. Both my opponents and those I played against were top-class, and some are still active on their respective national teams. Furthermore, I also had a lot of playing time with my previous team, which was also an important factor for me. But what's certain is that I want to continue learning because I still feel like I have a lot of untapped potential," explained the guard, who was also a member of the national team squad that won the gold medal at the 2021 Vietnam Sea Games.

When asked about his hopes for the upcoming Sea Games, Yudha replied that bringing home a medal is his main goal. Moreover, as we know from the previous Sea Games, the Garuda squad failed to win a medal after losing to Thailand in the semifinals.

"As a player, of course, I want to contribute another gold medal for Indonesia, but of course, that can only be achieved with the team's hard work. And I think we're on the right track now with Coach Dave and everyone here. So, we're optimistic we can give our best at the upcoming Sea Games," he concluded.

In addition to Yudha, SM Bandung also sent other names to this year's selection, including Avan Seputera, Juan Laurent, Julian Chalias, Dame Diagne, Pandu Wiguna, Widyanta Teja, and Abraham Damar Grahita. They will head to Australia as part of the team's final preparations before departing for Thailand next December.

Good luck SM Boiz!
