Tangerang, January 11, 2026 – Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung kicked off their journey in the IBL GoPay 2026 with an impressive victory during their away game against the Tangerang Hawks. The season opener took place at the Tangerang Indoor Stadium on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM WIB.
The squad, led by Coach Djordje Jovicic, fielded a starting five consisting of Karl Gloria, Jalen Jones, Chad Brown, Widyanta Putra Teja, and Abraham D. Grahita. From the start of the match, Coach Djordje immediately implemented a foreign player rotation strategy by fielding three foreign players in the first quarter. This strategy received a positive response from the team, which performed solidly and full of energy in this season's opening match.
Jalen Jones immediately displayed a sharp performance from the get-go, serving as the primary engine of the attack. Chad Brown also stood out in his role as a rim protector, putting significant pressure on the opponent's defense. Jalen Jones became the top scorer with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Chad Brown added 16 points and 3 blocks, while Yudha Saputera recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists. Ivy Curry contributed 11 points to the win.
"Whatever rotation Satria Muda showed today, in my opinion, Coach Djordje created a great strategy and everyone is happy with it. We started the season well from the very first game. Regarding the foreign player rotation he implemented, the team played very well today and we felt comfortable executing the game plan that had been prepared," said Jalen Jones.
This victory felt even more special as it coincided with the #PersibDay commemoration and the match between Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta on the same day.
