Bandung, December 8, 2025 – Heading into the IBL 2026 season, Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung has officially signed two foreign players from the United States: Jalen Jones, an experienced forward who has played in competitions at the NBA level and various top leagues worldwide, and Jordan "Ivy" Curry, a young guard who is starting his professional career this season. Both are projected to be the main drivers in Satria Muda's mission to reclaim the championship title.
The arrival of these two #NEWBLUE players is expected to add depth while presenting a more aggressive game dynamic on both ends of the court for the squad under the direction of Djordje Jovicic. The combination of these two foreign players is hoped to bring a new flavor to Satria Muda's playing style, especially in facing the increasingly tight and unpredictable competition of IBL 2026.
Jalen Jones, or often called JJ, revealed that his move to Indonesia was not a spontaneous decision. According to him, Asia always provides extraordinary experiences, and he wanted to directly be a part of it.
"I decided to play in Indonesia because I always have an incredible experience every time I come to Asia. From the food to the people, the treatment is always first-class. Many friends in America also always speak positively about Indonesian basketball," Jalen stated.
Regarding the position and the game he will offer to his new club, the player born in 1993 admitted that he will give his best and chose to fully trust the coach. "Whatever the coach asks for, that's what I will do. I can play many positions and guard players at any position. I will always play with heart and give my all for Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung. I want to help the team win the championship. There will definitely be ups and downs in the process, so I ask the people of Bandung to keep supporting us toward victory," Jalen added.
More than just technical ability, Jalen revealed that he will bring a strong competitive mentality this season. "When playing, I always call myself a winner. I hate losing and will do anything to achieve victory. That's what I strive for with my new club," he said optimistically.
Echoing Jalen, Jordan 'Ivy' Curry affirmed that his choice to come to Indonesia is not just about the opportunity to play, but the opportunity to grow. Indonesia is the first foreign country he has ventured into in his career. Nervous and excited, it all came together.
"This is my first time playing outside of America. My choice was not wrong, Bandung is an amazing city, the weather is cool, and the people are very friendly. My impression of Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung is that I love this team. The coach and teammates are very kind to me," an enthusiastic Ivy said.
Besides wanting to step out of his comfort zone, Ivy also revealed that being coached under the guidance of Coach Djordje Jovicic was one of his major considerations. "Joining Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung is the best step to start my professional career, and I really hope to learn from Coach Djordje. He is known for his very high basketball IQ and great passion. I know I will learn many great things from him," the young player stated.
Settling in Bandung, Ivy also conveyed a message to the basketball lovers of the Priangan City.
"As a #NEWBLUE, I want to ask the people of Bandung to come and watch us play live at the C-Tra Arena. This season gonna be a movie!" exclaimed Ivy.
Responding to this, the Sport Director of Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung, Youbel Sondakh, enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of the two foreign players. "The presence of Jalen Jones and Jordan Ivy-Curry is part of our strategy to strengthen the team this season. Jalen brings world-class experience and a competitive mentality, while Ivy offers the young energy and offensive capabilities that we greatly need," Youbel said.
"We are confident that both will make a significant impact. They are hard workers and have personalities that match our team's identity," Youbel stated, emphasizing that both have characters that align with Satria Muda's work culture.
