The Satria Muda Pertamina squad has grown again after they landed a new player from Klaten, Bryan Elang. The former KBS player was brought in to add depth to the SM Pertamina squad in the big-man position, which we know in the local ranks there is only Julian Chalias.
"The main reason is of course because we really need a player for the center position and Bryan is one of those available in the current transfer market, so we took him. In addition, he is also a smart player because after a few days of training I saw that he already understands our game quite well. In terms of height, he also fits into the Satria Muda Pertamina scheme and system," said SM head coach Youbel Sondakh.
"Now it's just a matter of how he restores his physical fitness so he can help and give us more energy on the field," he continued.
Youbel also explained that another factor is because Bryan Elang has been playing in the league for a long time, so in terms of experience and mentality, of course he is a mature player.
"Then he has also been a champion in Prawira so at least he is familiar with the atmosphere of important matches later. Personally, I also like his no-nonsense attitude and cheerful demeanor. It will definitely make the atmosphere in the team more enjoyable," he concluded.
Bryan Elang himself when met on the field after training said that he did not expect at all that he would wear the SM Pertamina uniform this season, because after being released from KBS, the man born in 1998 was pessimistic about playing in the league this season.
"Wow, the feeling cannot be expressed in words to be able to join a team as big as Satria Muda, because honestly this is my dream team since I knew basketball. So when this dream comes true I will not waste it, I will fight for playing minutes and most importantly I want to help Satria Muda to win the championship again this season," said the man who is familiarly called Max.
