Satria Muda Pertamina (SMP) gave a good response after losing to Rans Simba by winning two victories over Dewa United and Pacific Caesar. Actually, SMP, who had just been left by their foreign center Warren Washington, had quite a hard time playing their three home games last week. However, several adjustments given by Coach Youbel seemed to be starting to show some light.

After defeating Dewa United with a narrow score of 93-90, the team from North Jakarta appeared fierce by silencing Pacific Caesar for the second time this season with a score of 125-90. Several good notes were carved by the SMP squad in the match, including the inclusion of all players' names in contributing points and also their shooting percentage which reached 55 percent.

"Obviously as a coach I am very happy with the performance of the SM players today, we have a good shooting percentage, assists also reached 37, the energy to win is great. This is an extraordinary achievement for us and hopefully in this Saturday's match we can be consistent with numbers like this," said SMP head coach Youbel Sondakh in a press conference after the match.

However, for Youbel there are still things that need to be fixed by his troops for the next matches. Moreover, they will continue to play with a composition of two foreign players in the match against Kesatria Bengawan Solo in the upcoming match.

"Hmmm, honestly we are still adapting to this situation. Obviously this will be a challenge for SM because they (KBS) have a large composition of players and there will be one new foreign player too. But fortunately we already know the problem, when yesterday we lost to Rans it was also because we lost the rebound and today AJ Bramah and Miranda were able to get a lot of offensive rebounds. Well, that's what we need to fix, maybe with strategy or playing more psychically," he concluded.

With this victory, SMP recorded 16 wins from 21 matches and perched at the top of the standings. (FR)
