Bandung, January 5, 2026 – Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung officially held the Official Team & Jersey Launch to welcome the 2026 competition season. This launch marks the beginning of a new journey for Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung in the 2026 season, fueled by a stronger fighting spirit, deep-rooted Bandung identity, and a determination to return to the highest level of competition. The team aims to deliver the best achievements for the city of Bandung and its loyal supporters, aligned with the city's slogan, #CityofChampions.
The event took place at GOR C-Tra Arena Bandung, now the official home base of Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung, on Monday, January 5, 2026. The ceremony was attended by officials from the West Java Provincial Government and Bandung City Government, representatives from the Central and Regional Perbasi (Indonesian Basketball Association), Dispora, KONI, IBL, media partners, the Bandung basketball community, and loyal supporters.
In addition to Pertamina, the club receives support from various sponsors and partners essential to the club's ecosystem, including SM Academy, Cap Panda, Extra Joss, Susu Zee, Santika, Mandiri Inhealth, Royal Progress, Biznet, OxyFit, Prima, Baraya, Citilink, Stayhoops, and Hoops Point, as well as regional partners Kuldesak, SSST, and Dragonfly, all working together to strengthen the club's path for the 2026 season.
The club’s commitment to the new season is inseparable from the support of Pertamina as the main sponsor, which has stood by Satria Muda since 2015. Managing Director of Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung, Christian Ronaldo Sitepu, emphasized the club's direction: "We are using the 2026 season as momentum to continue our consistent achievements while strengthening the club's foundation. Pertamina's support since 2015 is more than just sponsorship; it is a long-term partnership that provides stability, trust, and energy for Satria Muda to keep growing, adapting, and targeting the best results every season," said the man fondly known as Dodo.
As an Indonesian basketball legend who rose from the ranks of Satria Muda, Dodo also expressed optimism and invited the Bandung public to get involved: "We are very optimistic about the composition of the team, coaching staff, and all elements of the club in 2026. Satria Muda is now truly a part of Bandung, and we invite all citizens to come, support, and be part of our struggle throughout this season."
From the coaching perspective, Djordje Jovicic, the new Head Coach for this season, conveyed the team's readiness: "We are undergoing preparation with high focus, building a disciplined and consistent game system. The players have shown excellent commitment and work ethic, with an increasingly strong understanding of the game philosophy we are implementing."
He added, "The atmosphere within the team is very positive. We have squad depth and tactical flexibility that provide many options. The challenges of the new season will not be easy, but this team is mentally and physically ready to compete from the start."
Regarding the technical aspects, Sports Director Youbel Sondakh explained that this season's squad was formed with careful planning and a long-term vision. "We built the team with a balance between experience, local player quality, and tactical needs. All these decisions are directed toward one goal: bringing Satria Muda back to being champions, in line with the #CityofChampions spirit," said Youbel.
The former coach, who delivered the IBL All Indonesian Final 2025 title for Bandung, also explained the philosophy behind Jovicic’s appointment: "We chose Djordje Jovicic because his coaching philosophy aligns with Satria Muda's identity—disciplined, detailed, and process-oriented. Simultaneously, we built this squad by considering character balance, system needs, and a competitive mentality, ensuring every player has a clear role and complements one another."
As the team enters the new season, unity and a sense of belonging remain the core foundation. Team Captain Abraham Damar Grahita highlighted the ambition within the squad: "We are fully aware of the great responsibility of wearing the Satria Muda jersey, especially now representing Bandung. The spirit within the team is strong, and we share one determination: to work hard every day to win the title."
"The support from loyal fans is our greatest motivation. We dedicate this struggle to the city of Bandung and the entire Satria Muda family," added Abraham.
Bandung native Yudha Saputera expressed his pride in playing for a club now based in his hometown: "Playing for Satria Muda in Bandung is very special to me. It's not just about basketball, but also about identity and pride for my city. I want to continue growing and make a real contribution to this team."
A similar sentiment was shared by Dame Diagne, who enters a new chapter as a local player after being naturalized since 2016: "Being an Indonesian local player is a great pride. Playing for Satria Muda in Bandung gives me extra motivation to keep learning and fighting to bring this team the championship."
Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung officially begins its partnership with Kelme as the official apparel sponsor. For the 2026 season, the club introduced Home, Away, and Alternate jerseys. In this initial launch, the three jerseys were introduced as the "Player Issue - Inaugural Edition" as a limited first drop. These jerseys represent the pure culture and heritage of Satria Muda and mark the beginning of the collaboration with Kelme. As an Inaugural Edition, these jerseys are produced in limited quantities and will never be reproduced.
