Go To Return With Avan Seputra

This season will again be a season full of challenges for Satria Muda Pertamina (SMP). There are many new rules in the league, the head coach's chair is shifting and players are being dismantled. And in terms of changing the composition of the courtiers, it could be said that now this is quite a significant change.

After letting go of Hardianus, Kelvin, Matthew and the still-unrecovered Kresna, SMP will also be left behind by one of its senior players, Avan Seputra, this season. Luckily, Avan, whose contract expires in November 2023, finally found common ground with Satria Muda management to continue their collaboration.

"The first thing is of course happy because finally the discussions regarding extending my contract and the SMP management went smoothly. But there are special things that I proposed to junior high school, one of which was my desire to develop myself both in basketball and in preparation for life after basketball. "So for that reason I will go to the United States and will not play with SMP this season," said Avan.

Avan's journey with Satria Muda itself has been long and harmonious. You could say that junior high school also became a place and witness to how Avan transformed both in terms of play and maturity on the field. This was proven by Avan being appointed team captain and winning four titles in the highest caste of the Indonesian basketball league.

"Yes, there are indeed several teams that have made offers to me to move, but I can't lie to you that my heart is still for Satria Muda. That's also why I still want to hone my basketball skills in America, so that when I return I can continue to help SM win various championships. "And what is certain is that currently I am still a Satria Muda player, now the term goes away to come back," concluded the man who has joined SMP since 2012.

When asked why he only wanted to hone himself at the age of 30, Avan answered that according to him age was not an obstacle to developing himself. "Because learning is not seen from whether we are old or young, but at any time we can always learn and develop our potential to the maximum and become better," he added.

Meanwhile, the management representative and middle school living legend, Cristian Ronaldo Sitepu, said that they supported Avan's decision to hone himself in Uncle Sam's country. Apart from the fact that they see a strong desire to develop, it is also because Avan is currently one of the longest-serving players in the junior high school team.

"Of course we support Avan's move to America as an effort for him to further develop both in terms of basketball skills and education. Because from the beginning Satria Muda management has always been open and dynamic in various negotiations regarding basketball and academics. "Apart from that, I also hope that when Avan returns from there he can share his knowledge here, so that it will have a real impact both inside and outside the arena for the junior high school team," he said.
