Satria Muda Pertamina (SMP) continued their impressive trend this season. Visiting Surabaya and Bali to face Pacific Caesar and Bali United, SMP was able to finish it with a win.
The first match against Pacific was not an easy match for Bram et al. The team that is identical with the color green was actually able to match SMP's game with their new foreign player AJ Bramah.
There was a chase for points but finally SMP was able to emerge as the winner with a score of 94-85. Abraham Damar Grahita was once again the difference maker. The player from Bangka appeared mighty with 26 points during 27 minutes in the arena.
"Indeed we had a bit of difficulty in the first quarter but the coaching team quickly realized that. And immediately changed the defensive strategy for and once the defensive system worked it was proven that we were able to control the course of the match and win. But kudos to Pacific they played very well today," said Abraham after the match.
After a day off, the team from Kelapa Gading has returned to play and this time it is facing Bali United at the GOR Purna Krida. The slippery field conditions had caused the match to be postponed. However, after being delayed for 20 minutes, the tip-off was finally carried out.
Playing with great caution made the game of both teams not optimal. Even so, SMP was still able to come out with a victory with a score of 96-86.
Randy Bell showed his best game by becoming the spearhead of the team. Playing for 24 minutes, Randy was able to score 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Nash helped with 23 points and Jarron Crump 18 points.
"The fact is that I really like the atmosphere in Bali, maybe that's one of the factors that I was able to play well here haha. But what is certain is that I am happy with this victory, especially since we played with very slippery field conditions," said Randy Bell.
With these two victories, SMP is perched at the top of the IBL2025 standings. Furthermore, SMP will return to play away games this week against Rans and Dewa United.
