Holidays are certainly a day that everyone looks forward to, a time when we can get away from the busy daily routine for a moment. And of course it can be filled with various activities and events. One of the Satria Muda Pertamina players, Antoni Erga, chose to return to his hometown in Bangka to meet his relatives. A moment that of course he can't enjoy every day.
"But I wasn't in Bangka for long, just a few days. In addition to missing my parents, we also celebrated the cheng ben tradition there. The timing coincided with the atmosphere of Ramadan so it was more lively and exciting. It was nice to see the people of Bangka getting along with each other between religions," said Erga.
Aware of his profession as an athlete, Erga also didn't just spend this Eid holiday just to relieve his longing but also continued to carry out the training program given by the coaching staff at Satria Muda.
"For our physical condition, there is a training menu from Coach Gofar, this aims to ensure that when we return from vacation, we are all ready to be on the field again. Moreover, yesterday we also had a physical trainer from Spain, Coach Guillermo. With his presence, I was greatly helped, especially in terms of knowledge on how to regulate our body rhythm as athletes during this season," he continued.
When asked whether Erga also took advantage of this competition break with training hours, he answered of course. He considered that the very tight league this season indeed requires every individual to step up in every match.
"That's why before returning to Bangka yesterday, I always did repetitions in training. Improving my physical condition, sharpening my skills and also patching up all my shortcomings. This break is actually a momentum for me to evaluate what my weaknesses are and then change them into strengths in myself. And I am sure of course there will be results when the league starts again next Sunday," concluded the man who was born on May 6, 2000.
Satria Muda Pertamina itself will return to training this week, then visit Amarta Hangtuah in the continuation of this season's IBL in Ciracas on April 12. (FR)
